Donald Moore has performed as crotchety old men before (King Lear, Teiresias, Santa Claus), and he has played young passionate men – Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet, the Cheerleader in Bleacher Bums, Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Michael in Dancing at Lughnasa. And he has sung for his supper in Cabaret, Zorba, and West Side Story. But playing Doc has been a special pleasure, for it has placed him on stage with this cast of good fellows, and nothing could be finer.
